Condensates
2017 - Now
This series consists of multiple photographs of the ocean, taken from the exact same location but at different dates and times, following a precise protocol: a long exposure during which the camera slowly rotates 180 degrees along the horizon line. Each image thus produces a synthesis that is both temporal and spatial, merging multiple moments and perspectives into a single picture.
By removing any detail that might catch the eye, the gesture sets photographic realism aside. Instead, it seeks to translate the contemplative state experienced when facing the horizon, a feeling that conventional photography often fails to render. The landscape is thus condensed into a surface, where light and color combine to create an abstract composition.
